SNA AWARDS PROGRAM

Through the SNA Awards Program, SNA celebrates and recognizes every-day heroes: school nutrition professionals who work every day to ensure well-nourished students across the country are prepared for success!  Individuals may be nominated by peers, staff, colleagues, or supervisors for these awards. All nominees must be SNA members who are SNA certified or SNS credentialed throughout the entire awards nomination and judging process.

SNA award winners are recognized at the Red Carpet Awards Ceremony at SNA’s Annual National Conference (ANC) each year. Award winners will receive the following prizes:

State winners will receive a certificate and ribbon.
Regional winners will receive a pin, certificate, and $50.
National winners will receive a plaque and an all-expenses paid trip to ANC, worth up to $1,000.

Employee of the Year

The Employee of the Year award recognizes non-managerial school nutrition employees for the contributions they have made throughout their school nutrition career.

Manager of the Year

The Manager of the Year award, in honor of Louise Sublette, recognizes school nutrition managers for the contributions they have made throughout their school nutrition career.

Director of the Year

The Director of the Year award recognizes school nutrition directors for the contributions they have made throughout their school nutrition career.

DAWN LAVALLE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD


This award was established to recognize the efforts of an individual volunteer who has demonstrated exemplary support to School Nutrition Association of Massachusetts, SNA members and their professional community. The award will be given annually to an individual who has exemplified the giving spirit and selflessness as modeled by Dawn Lavallee, in volunteering for SNA of Mass. and its members. 
 
Nominations may be submitted by anyone in the school nutrition community. Nominators may submit only one nomination for consideration. Additional nominations will not be considered. The VOYA committee will send their recommendation to the SNA Executive Committee.   The recipient of this honor will be recognized during the SNA Reception at the John Stalker Institute Summit in May with a plaque. They will also receive recognition on the SNA of Mass. website and in other SNA publications and events.

The nomination period opens in January and will close in mid-March.

THE GEORGE MALONEY INDUSTRY MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award was established to recognize the efforts of an individual industry member who has demonstrated exemplary support to SNA of Massachusetts, SNA members and their professional community. The award will be given annually to an individual who is engaged in the sale of products or services to members of SNA and who has made especially outstanding contributions to the advancement of the child nutrition profession.

The recipient of this honor will be recognized during the Annual Conference with a plaque. They will also receive recognition on the SNA of Massachusetts Web site and in the Food For Thought Newsletter.

Nominations must be received by June 15th. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nominee must be employed by a current SNA Industry Member.
  • Nominee must have maintained membership in SNA for the past three consecutive years.
  • Current SNA Board members are not eligible for nomination.
