School Nutrition Association LAC Scholarship

We are now accepting grant applications for this year’s SNA National Legislative Action Conference (LAC)
March 3-5, 2024 in Washington DC.

As your Legislative & Nutrition Committee Chair I encourage you to consider attending LAC this year. LAC is
an opportunity to participate in the democratic process as the Founding Fathers envisioned it. Attendees learn
about legislative issues affecting child nutrition programs and have the opportunity to meet with elected
representatives on Capitol Hill.

Consider bringing your expertise, your passion, and your stories to Washington, D.C., and prepare to shape and
define national policy relating to school nutrition. SNA’s annual LAC will take place at the J.W. Marriott
Washington D.C., in the heart of the nation’s capital.

This conference is an exciting and educational experience, which allows us as School Nutrition Professionals to
educate congress about our national program and local needs. Involvement in the legislative process of our
association brings amazing professional and personal growth and satisfaction. It allows us the opportunity to
implement change at the highest possible level, mobilizing the house and senate to take action and care for the
nation’s most precious commodity; our children.

You, along with over an anticipated 1,000 members representing all states across the country attending, will
learn all aspects of our annual SNA Position Paper prior to visiting the hill together. This will allow you to
communicate our message to our elected officials and offer them recommendations on how to support our
programs and students.
